Hail Mary

There she was
tears coming down one by one
as she held the body
of her newborn Son
She knew that her life
and Jesus and Joseph's too
would be getting harder
as they did what they had to do
She never questioned God
or His plan in their lives
but instead said, "Yes"
She would never second guess
God's will

Hail Mary
full of grace
the Lord is with you
Blessed are you
among women
and blessed is the fruit
of your womb - Jesus

The final day came
she knew he was going to die
The battle was almost won
and she had to say, "Goodbye"
Her son, Jesus,
hanging up on a cross
blood dripping from his wounds
salvation through this loss

There she was
